Emergency dental care

If something hurts, has broken or has come loose, call us as early in the day as you can. We keep time free each day for problems that cannot wait, and we see you the same day wherever we can. The first aim is to find the cause and make you comfortable. Anything bigger is planned after that.

What happens

  1. Call us

Phone the practice rather than using the online form, so we can find the earliest time. Outside opening hours, the message on our number says where to get care.

  2. Finding the cause

We examine the area, take an x-ray if it is needed, and explain what we have found.

  3. Dealing with it

Where we can, we treat the immediate problem at the same visit, for example with a temporary filling or by starting root canal treatment. If more is needed, you get the options and costs in writing before anything else is booked.

What this covers

  • Toothache
  • Broken or chipped teeth
  • Lost fillings and crowns
  • Knocked-out teeth

Things worth knowing

  • Go to a hospital emergency department, not a dental practice, for facial swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, bleeding that will not stop, or an injury from an accident.
  • If an adult tooth is knocked out, call us straight away. Hold it by the crown, not the root, and keep it in milk on the way.
  • An emergency visit is charged as a limited examination, plus any x-rays and treatment. We tell you the fees before we start.

Book a emergency dental care appointment

Requesting an appointment takes about a minute, and you can mention on the form what it's about.
