Children's dentistry
Early appointments are kept short and unhurried, and are mostly about the child getting comfortable in the chair. Nothing is done to a child who is not ready for it.
What happens
A look around
A first visit is often just sitting in the chair, looking at the instruments, and having their teeth counted.
Examination and clean
When the child is comfortable, an examination and a gentle clean, explained to them as it happens.
Prevention
Fissure sealants and fluoride where they are useful, and a conversation with the parent about brushing and diet.

Things worth knowing
- Eligible children can be bulk billed under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule. We check eligibility for you at the appointment.
- You are welcome in the room for the whole appointment.
- If a child is distressed, we stop and rebook.
