The small print

Privacy, and how this site works

What this website collects, where a submitted form goes, and what it means that this is a demonstration site.

This is a demonstration site

Demo Dental Co is a fictional practice built by Cirrus Digital to demonstrate how a clinic website can work. The practitioners, address, phone number and fees on this site are invented. Nothing here is a real health service, and no content on it is medical advice.

It was built by Cirrus Digital (opens in a new tab) to show allied health clinics what a working clinic website looks like. The booking request, the enquiry form and the new patient form all run.

The practice name, the practitioners, the address, the phone number, the opening hours and every fee reference on this site are invented. The phone number sits inside the block the Australian numbering plan reserves for fiction, so it cannot reach anybody. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and nothing on it is an offer of a health service.

If you were looking for a real dentist, this is not one. If you run a clinic and want a site like this, that is what Cirrus Digital does (opens in a new tab).

What this website collects

Nothing unless you fill in a form. There are no analytics on this site, no advertising or tracking pixels, no third-party embeds and no cookies.

There are three forms: the enquiry form, the appointment request and the new patient form. On this demonstration site none of them send anything. What you type is checked for errors and then discarded. On a real clinic build, this is where the submission would be sent to the practice over an encrypted connection.

What is stored, and for how long

Nothing is stored on this website. There is no database behind it.

A submitted form is validated and then dropped. It is not emailed, no copy is written to disk, and no record is kept of who submitted what.

On a real clinic build, the submission would then be entered into the practice’s clinical records system, governed by the Privacy Act 1988 and, in Victoria, the Health Records Act 2001, with the retention periods those set. This demonstration site has no such system.

The server briefly holds one thing: a rate-limiting counter keyed on a coarse version of your IP address, so a script cannot use the contact form to flood an inbox. It is held in memory, it expires after ten minutes, and it is not written anywhere.

Health information

Health information is a special category under Australian privacy law, and it is handled differently to a name and a phone number.

Please do not send any through this site. Demo Dental Co is not a real practice, and the new patient form offers example answers to fill it with instead.

Questions about any of this

This site is operated by Cirrus Digital, not by a clinic. There is nothing here to delete: the forms store nothing and send nothing, so no submission of yours exists anywhere. For questions about how the site works, get in touch through Cirrus Digital (opens in a new tab).
